Job Description (Research Scientist, JRF, SRF, RA):
Applications are invited from highly motivated candidates for various research and non-research positions in DSTÂMahamana Centre of Excellence for Climate Change Research established under the National Mission for Strategic Knowledge on Climate Change (NMSKCC), DST at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. The post is temporary and co-terminus with the project. However, the appointments are initially for six months, but extendable depending upon the performance of the selected candidates. The total emoluments for various positions are as per DST norms. Meritorious and highly promising candidates joining in junior research positions will get an opportunity to register for PhD provided fulfilling necessary eligibility requirements.

Upper age limit- as per DST rule (relaxation of age as per GOI norms) For SRF: As JRF with two years research experience | Expertise in climate change, aerosol, water resource management, climate resilient agriculture, agroecology, human health and climate change, computer programing, etc. Knowledge of GRADS or GIS or MATLAB or R software etc., will be added advantage. |

| Research Scientist-B (2 post) | 58,650/- p.m (consolidated) | Masters Degree with more than five years’ experience or Ph D in concerned subject. | Research Assistant (1 post) | 18,780/- p.m (consolidated for 5 years) | M.Sc. (with at least 55% marks) or B.Sc. with four-year experience. Upper age limit- 28 yrs (relaxation of 5 years for Female/SC/ST and Physically Handicapped candidates as per GOI norms) | Masters Physical, Biological, Geological, Agricultural, Social Science with experience in computer data analysis, laboratory maintenance, record keeping etc. |
