The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for engagement of the following Project Personnel in the Project “Assessment of Wildlife Values and Land Tenure for Planning Rationalization of boundaries for Changthang and Karakoram Wildlife Sanctuaries, Ladakh”purely on contractual basis for a period of 15 months.
The project aims toassess the wildlife values and the land tenure of Changthang and Karakoram Wildlife Sanctuaries through field investigations and stakeholder consultations in order to plan rationalization of boundaries for these protected areas.
Note: Only candidates in excellent health condition, physical and mental fitness, and willing to conduct arduous field work in remote, high altitude regions (> 3500m above MSL) of Ladakh under extreme weather conditions need to apply.

2 | Essential Qualification (EQ) | Post Graduate Degree in Wildlife Science /Ecology/ Forestry/ Biodiversity Conservation/ Environmental Sociology/ Remote Sensing / GIS/ Bioinformatics and at least four years of field research experience OR Ph.D in the above subjects |
3 | Desirable Qualification (DQ) | Experience in assessment of human-wildlife conflicts and/or in the Himalayan region, working with stakeholders, and proven abilities of writing skills |
4 | Work description | Conduct and coordinate field investigation with team members on the assessment of wildlife values, natural resource use, land use through participatory processes, conducting workshops, stakeholder consultations, writing reports, preparation of maps /presentations and other related activities. |

7 | Age | Not exceeding 40 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories may be relaxed as per the rules. |

2 | Essential Qualification (EQ) | M.Sc in Wildlife Science /Zoology/ Forestry/ Environmental Science/ Biodiversity Conservation/ Remote Sensing/ GIS / Bioinformatics with minimum 60% aggregate (for Project Associate-1 and Project Associate-II) Two years field research experience for Project Associate-II(proof to be submitted along with application) Candidates may be selected for either of the two positions depending upon Essential Qualification and experience |
3 | Desirable Qualification (DQ) | Experience in the Himalayan region, working with stakeholders, and proven abilities of writing skills |
