Jacobs is seeking an Urban Designer with digital skills to join its growing team. Our strategy considers how we can shape regions and cities holistically as well as set the agenda to create better urban environments.
The Cities-Places and Architecture team in Jacobs India operations integrates strategic design-led thinking with the company’s multi-disciplinary background. Working with private and public sectors in India and internationally, the team are examining how new housing and jobs, place making, health and well-being should be linked to infrastructure opportunities, bringing a new direction to Jacobs’ outlook and creating an impetus for our towns and cities to thrive.
As a Senior/ Lead Urban Planner you will be working as part of a team of highly creative designers and planners alongside engineers, economists, environmental experts, transport engineers and other disciplines, demonstrating the application of interactive geo-spatial digital tools and parametric design software within specific projects.
We are looking for an ambitious candidate with the following skills:
- Creative conceptual approach to urban planning
- Inquisitive attitude to our cities, how they are evolving and what are the influences
- Proven design skills incorporating urban design, master planning, public realm
- Understanding of development regulations and policies, ability to analyze and write new policies
- A team player with excellent communication and presentation skills
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- A Post-Graduate Degree in Urban planning, or Urban design
- Well-developed technical writing skills and ability to communicate effectively visually through maps, graphics
- Strong software skills in ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD and 3D visualization software such as SketchUp
- Prior professional experience between 15-18 years in the field of urban planning.
