The Maps team is looking for a Senior GIS Engineer who loves working with Spatial Data. The successful applicant will work on all project stages, from initial research and data mining, thru analysis, transformation and integration into final product.

Key Qualifications
8+ years of experience working with spatial datasets, primarily streets, address and territories focussed, but can also include display layers, points of interest and imagery.
You have the ability to analyze, prepare and deliver datasets with detailed metadata and release notes.
Excellent problems solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast changing environment.
Proven experience working on critical path results – on time, high quality.
Proven technical GIS skills (ArcGIS, FME, Scala, etc).
Experienced with database/programming languages like SQL, Python, Scala.
Demonstrated ability to work multi-functionally with a distributed team, including engineering, product and ops teams – superb communication and organization skills.
Description
Maps team owns the platform and systems to represent a wide variety of map features for the entire globe, build the pipelines to process and analyze many sources of geospatial data, as well as design and implement algorithms to identify anomalies, normalize and improve the data that powers Apple Maps.
In this role you will be working on data collection, validation, analysis and transformation. You’ll work on processes to classify, validate and transform the data; develop new processes and improve existing ones.
Education & Experience
Bachelors/Masters in GeoScience or Engineering Degree preferred
Additional Requirements
Direct experience with Maps Products or Map Environments
