The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) is a premier institute in the field of Remote Sensing, GIS, GPS, Geo-informatics, Geospatial Technology for Environmental, Ecological and Natural Resource Management. It was established in the year 1966 under the Department of Space. Which is located in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand (India). It is constituent unit of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space, Govt. of India.

Mandate:
To provide training and capacity building in the field of geospatial technology and its applications through training, education and research in Southeast Asia.
