Director of Earth Observation Programmes at ESA

 

The European Space Agency is currently looking for a new Director of Earth Observation Programmes, to join its Executive Board and support the Director General, with responsibility for relevant ESA programmes and overall objectives.

 

The position will be based at ESRIN, ESA’s centre for Earth observation in Frascati, near Rome, (Italy).

 

The Director of Earth Observation Programmes is responsible for the definition, planning and execution of ESA’s Earth observation programmes, consistent with the European Strategy for Space and taking into account the worldwide environment and its main actors. 

 

The Director is responsible for the implementation of all ESA activities in Earth observation and the preparation of new proposals in this area.

 

Applicants for this post should have a higher, preferably technical or scientific, education and need to have in-depth knowledge of and experience in Earth observation, preferably acquired in an international setting and including close cooperation with partner organisations. Consult the detailed job profile and requirements.
